Regional Office of the Lodzkie Region
Regional Office of the Lodzkie Region is responsible for creating a positive image of the region in Europe and the acquisition of information, which are relevant to the interests of the region and are often available only in Brussels. Among the specific tasks facing our representation and ways of their implementation and expected results we should highlight:
Functions of the Office:
• Monitor actions taken by European institutions on matters important to the interests of the Lodzkie Region
• Informing the local authorities, organizations and institutions in the region of the possibilities of applying for the measures under the Community Programs
• Representing the interests of the region by the European institutions
• Promotion of the Lodzkie Region in Brussels and other regions of the European Union
• Lobbying for the projects submitted to Brussels by local authorities and institution of the region
Ways of carrying out the tasks:
• The establishment and consolidation of regular contacts with European institutions, in particular, the Committee of the Regions, the European Commission and the European Parliament
• Building partnerships and exchanges of experiences with representatives of other regions, including the Polish regional offices
• Conduct a contact point for partners and to promote interregional cooperation
• Participation in seminars, conferences and other meetings in Brussels
• Collection of information about EU legislation, which are relevant to the interests of the Lodzkie Region
• Direct and regular contacts with the Marshall Office, local governments and institution of the region
Desired results of the Office:
• Increase awareness of the Lodzkie Region in the European institutions
• Increase awareness among inhabitants of the Lodzkie region of the role and effects of the Regional Office
• More efficient use of structural funds in the region
• Significant increase in projects under the Community Programs submitted directly in Brussels by the institutions from the region
• Success in the negotiations of the Sectoral Operational Programme for the Lodzkie Region for 2007-2013
