OPEN DAYS 2010: "Objective 2020: Competitiveness, cooperation and cohesion for all regions"

The 8th OPEN DAYS – European Week of Regions and Cities will be held in Brussels between 4 and 7 October 2010. Together with the EU institutions, more than 200 regions and cites will contribute to a programme of 100 seminars, workshops, debates, exhibitions and networking opportunities for around 6,000 participants.

 

Lodz Voivodship signed a declaration supporting the importance and necessity of a highway linking Gdańsk-Łódź-Brno-Vienna

December 3, 2009 in the European Parliament was signed the declaration, which maintains the importance and necessity of rapid project priority TEN-T No. 25, a highway running through the line of Gdańsk-Łódź-Brno-Vienna (highway A1).

 

The Region of Lodz in 5 new INTERREG IVC projects!

During the recently concluded meeting in Stockholm, the Monitoring Committee for the Interreg IVC announced the results of the second call for projects of interregional cooperation. Thanks to the efforts of the Regional Office of the Lodz Region in Brussels, building strong consortia and lobby activities, 5 projects in which a partner is the Lodz Region, received approval.

On 19 October 2009, at the seat of the European Institute in Lodz took place the  Forum of European Funds, organized by the Marshal's Office in Lodz as a local event in the European Week of Regions and Cities “Open Days 2009 ".

Poland won wit The European Commission

The European Commission today took new decisions on the national allocation plans (NAPs) submitted by Estonia and Poland for distributing carbon dioxide (CO 2) emission allowances for the 2008-2012 trading period of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).

 

Designation of Pawel Samecki for the Commissioner

MPs elected Jerzy Buzek to be the new European Parliament President with 555 votes in favour (or 86.18 per cent of the valid votes). He was elected after the first-round of voting. The second candidate, Eva Britt Svensson, gathered 89 votes. Jerzy Buzek replaces the outgoing President Hans-Gert Pöttering.

European Funds Picnic

On the 28th of June 2009 in Manufacture in Lodz the European Funds Picnic was organised. Elzbieta Hibner, member of the Executive Board of the Lodz Voivodship, officially opened the event. The evening guest of the event was the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodship, Wlodzimierz Fisiak, who handed out the main award in a conquest for mascot of the Regional Operational Programme.
