Marcin Podgórski is a graduate of the Faculty of Socio-Economics at the University of Lodz. He also studied at Albert –Ludwigs Universitaet Freiburg im Breisgau. Marcin also finished courses at the National Tsing Hua University, College of Technology Management in Taiwan, the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Ecological Agency, for which he was awarded the title of a European affairs trainer.
He has worked for the Marshal’s Office in Lodz since 2001. As the Regional Development Strategy Unit Manager, he was responsible for the development of the Regional Contract. In subsequent years, he actively participated in the drafting of the National Development Plan and the Integrated Regional Development Operational Program implemented thereunder.
During his time as the strategy team manager, Marcin developed a draft of and conducted the reconciliation and approval process for the Development Strategy for the Lodzkie Region for years 2007 – 2020.
As the Deputy Director of the Department of Regional Policy and Plenipotentiary of the Board of the Lodzkie Region he was responsible for and successful in preparing the structures of the Marshal’s Office for the absorption of ESF funds under the OP HC.
In the period preceding the financial perspective for 2007 – 2013, Marcin was the main developer of the Regional Operational Programme for the Lodzkie Region. In 2007, he was appointed as the Director of the Department of Regional Policy and became responsible under the Managing Authority for the programming, monitoring, evaluation and promotion of the Regional Operational Programme for the Lodzkie Region. He also supervised the implementation of the systemic project titled Strategic Map of the Region, financed from the OP HC and international projects, such as EURIS, INNOPOLIC, MKW financed under previously the INTERREG IVC initiative and currently under the Europe for Citizens programme, SMARTSPEC and the Regional Operational Programme.
As a lecturer and speaker, he cooperates with numerous institutions, such as the University of Lodz, the Enterprise Development Foundation, Forbes, Forum of European Funds, Marketing and Business College in Lodz and the European Institute.
Marcin is fluent in German and English. He also speaks Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and French on a communicative level.
In private life, he is married with 2 children. He is also an ironman participant and marathon runner, but his passion is regional policy.
- Office in Brussels
Ewa Guzek has worked at the Office since 2013 and is in charge of maintaining relations with the representatives of European regions and international organisations in Brussels.
As part of her duties, Ewa participates in the activities of working groups under international networks operating in Brussels, mainly in the area of SMEs, energy and transport, disseminates information, maintains relations and supports entities from the above-mentioned sectors. She supports entities from the region in the acquisition of funds for the implementation of projects and coordinates the process of establishing international project consortia by associating partners.
Ewa is a graduate of the University of Lodz and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo. She also studied at Universitat de Vic in Spain. She speaks fluent English.
Magda Krakowiak has worked at the Office since 2013 and is in charge of maintaining relations with universities in Lodz, i.e. the University of Lodz, the Medical University of Lodz and the Lodz University of Technology.
Her competencies include the representation of the interests of universities on the international forum and promotion of their scientific and research potential in Brussels. As part of her duties, Magda participates in the activities of working groups under international networks operating in Brussels, mainly in the area of bioeconomy and health, and disseminates information in the scope of education, research, development and innovation. She supports partners from the region in the acquisition of funds for the implementation of projects and coordinates the process of establishing international project consortia by associating partners.
Magda is a graduate of the University of Warsaw and the Opole University. She also studied at the Matej Bel University in Slovakia and completed a 1-year internship in a non-governmental organisation in Moscow, Russia. She speaks fluent English and Russian.
- Office in Łódź
Bogumiła Grzelczak has worked at the Office since 2011 and is in charge of managing the work of the Development Initiatives Unit as regards analysing the potential and needs of entities from the region in the context of possibilities to apply for funds under EU programmes as well as activating and supporting regional authorities, institutions and non-governmental organisations in the acquisition of funds offered by the EU.
Her competencies include supervision over the development of application documentation by Unit employees in response to selected competitions, the implementation and settlement of projects and maintaining relations with foreign and regional partners.
She also coordinates the informational activity of the Office in the region in cooperation with national and regional contact points for EU programmes and supervises the implementation of tasks related to budget planning and settlement of expenditures.
Bogumiła Grzelczak is a graduate of the Faculty of Socio-Economics at the University of Lodz. She also graduated from postgraduate studies in EU funds.
Anna Blumenfeld-Wrońska has worked at the Office since 2007 and is in charge of maintaining ongoing relations with entities from the Lodzkie region.
Her duties include the acquisition of information regarding possibilities for project co-financing under EU programmes by cooperating with, e.g., representatives of regional and national contact points. She ensures that knowledge gained is provided to regional entities interested in becoming involved in international projects. She disseminates information by holding individual meetings and organising open training courses with the participation of experts in order to increase the awareness of entities from the Lodzkie region as regards possibilities offered by international projects. She also provides support to entities which plan to implement an international project and seek foreign partners for a consortium.
Anna is a graduate of the Faculty of Socio-Economics at the University of Lodz. She also studied at the University of Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens (France) as a visiting student under the Socrates/Erasmus programme. She speaks fluent English and French.
Katarzyna Kurniawska has worked at the Regional Office of the Lodzkie Region in Brussels since 2012. She is in charge of executing projects of the Local Government of the Lodzkie Region being implemented by the Office, in particular of the financial settlement of these projects.
Her duties include the planning and monitoring of the budget of the Regional Office of the Lodzkie Region in Brussels, the development of project budgets and settlement of the Office’s ongoing activity. She participates in the preparation of regional seminars and conferences aimed at promoting the Lodzkie Region and disseminating information about possibilities to acquire financing under EU programmes.
Katarzyna is a graduate of the University of Lodz and the Poznań University of Economics.
Konrad Sikorski joined the team at the beginning of 2014. His duties include maintaining relations with the Committee of the Regions of the European Union and providing organisational support with respect to the activity of the Marshal of the Lodzkie Region as a Member of the above-mentioned committee.
His competencies also include the coordination of tenders and public procurements for promotional materials and services, held by the Office. Moreover, he acquires information on potential possibilities to finance regional tasks, performed by the Office, from external sources and cooperates with national and regional contact points for EU programmes in order to acquire knowledge for the purposes of own projects and informational activity conducted by the Office in the region.
Konrad is a graduate of the University of Lodz.
